I found this link on the ebay for a bolt on supercharger.... Linky

Has anyone experience they can share?

I did a bit of research on the net and various attempts have been made to make them, all seeming fairly agricultural. I could not find this particular model reviewed though.
Errmm - If it's an electrically powerered device, where is the power that is required coming from! ;)

Brilliant - the source of perpetual energy! :D

altreed,

really not worth the hassle or the expense, better buy a C43 and drop a 55 Kompressor engine in it! (i know someone who is doing that as we speak!) :)

By the time youve messsd around with it, then fixed the things that have blown up or gone wrong, you`ll have spent probably the same amount as buying an EVO6 !! :)

hehe a c55k now that would be nice. How much is a 55k motor 2nd hand? I would be a bit anxious about the transmission and diff if that much power was added.

I would just like to boost the low down torque a bit, to make it a little more lazy. I dont fancy changing the car, I have spent money on it to get it right in various areas and the car isn't really worth that much any more since I bought it, so I will be inclined to run it for a few years, just overcoming any shortcomings as I find them for the time being.

I would like to get an SL55 next, but will have to wait a few years before I can afford one.

TDi are very local to me - and I know Mark Catchpole the owner (good for getting a decent deal) too!
THe urge to turbo the SL has been there since I did Vinays car - but common sense prevails - its Allisons daily driver and she just doesnt need a twin turbo.

I have a turbo CRX for a quick blast and the new engine for that will make a lot of grown men cry

I do approve of the TT conversion - and could easily be tempted by one if it were just a weekend toy. Turbos give so much more torque that you really need to drive on to appreciate it fully. Vins turbo conversion was a complete revelation to drive compared to the std 180 - but you could also argue the 180 needed it more than any other MB car

Like you must have been feeling when the last blown engine was blown at Bruntingthorpe.

Actually you smiled like a Champ. :)

I will take pics of the piston from that engine tonight :D
No4 injector was at fault - the other 3 were supplying 550cc's - and it had fallen to about 390cc's

So it leaned out when it was under the most sustained load - ie top speed
Anyway - temp engine is in for the next few weeks - whilst the monster 1800 is being built and then the 1800 goes in for TOTB4

As it happens - the car is back at Brunters tomorrow on the spare 1600 for a quick thrash :)
