C43 AMG w202 estate

Looks in fantastic shape, the wheels are perfect 👌🏼 Really clean MOT history as well, looks like a great buy; if someone is prepared to drop that kind of money on it. Shame about the all black interior, but I know a lot of people prefer it over the 2-tone options.

NHZ 707 £59,995

Genuine W202 C55 available! Price seems a bit much but I guess it's a case of "find another" right?!

Low mileage for it's age, and seems to have been part of a good home.

That seems like mad money to me.......especially when you look at what others cars (inc AMG Mercedes) you could buy for 60 large.........
.......and the fact that it sold for "just" £40,000 in January!!!

No doubt cosseted in a cozy warm garage, but poor thing. It was built to be driven.

The pics are in the same location, so i don't think it sold in January. £40k obviously wasn't enough!

It is a high asking price, but it's a hard one to value. 99% of people would probably walk straight past it, even the rare few that even know what a W202 C43 is. For that other 1% though it's a very special car, given that it's a factory conversion and so hard to come across in RHD. Nobody would be desiring it for it's trackday prowess or ability to turn heads at the local car meet.

Yeah it doesn't appear to have stretched it's legs properly for a while!

Why didn't UK cars get a factory 180 MPH cluster?
MB should have offered UK market a top speed cluster.
Euro and Japanese cars had the beefier 300 km/h cluster.

UK C55 shared the same cluster with C43 which doesn't look or feel exclusive at all!
Looks cheap.

It does seem strange, every other C55 that I've seen photos of does have a bespoke 180mph cluster. I'm unsure why this one doesn't, unless it has been replaced at some point due to dodgy pixels?

Never seen a UK market C55 with the beefier 180MPH cluster, I have only seen the 160MPH aka 260KM/H on all C43's and some C55's.
Euro and Japanese C43's have the 280KM/H cluster which I also have on my car.

Many years ago I managed to find several brand new genuine VDO 300KM/H ivory dials with the AMG logo for C43 and C55.
I also have one pre-facelift cluster for 1998 to 1999 W210 E55AMG VDO ivory dial rated 300KM/H with the AMG logo.
I have the stuff at home.
Germans loved to mod their C43 clusters with these 300 dials, in Germany company MKB calibrated clusters after dial replacement.

My Mercedes specialist can swap the dials but has no calibration instruments for accurate KM/H readings.
Need to find a shop who can calibrate the 300 KM/H dial to cope with my 3,07 diff.

Few years ago I watched an US episode of Wheelers dealers when Mike went to a shop calibrating clusters.
Can't remember what car or season or episode it was?

Not sure on that one to be honest, the only episode of US Wheeler Dealers I ever watched was the W210 E55!

Found this whilst noodling around the WWW. Maybe worth a call?
The Instrument Cluster Repair Specialist, Cluster Repairs UK

Thanks adding the link.

I didn't find any info on their site about calibrating instruments.
Seem like a competent repair shop.
Problem is now that UK left EU it complicates everything when shopping from UK!

I phoned a few Swedish cluster shops, they only offer jack sh*t!
Need to find a competent shop in Germany.
