C43 McLaren

I remember seeing one of these on the forum nearly 10 years ago, IIRC there was a badge above the star on the engine cover which is missing from this one.

The door handles arent original, W210 ones (a good thing).

-Aftermarket alarm looking at the LED next to the handbrake handle
-Strange ariel on the rear

WTF shoes is the photographer wearing!

anybody have an idea how the 390hp are obtained?

I don't believe it does knock 390 but there's no reason why it wouldn't if there was an S/charger or Twin turbo system bolted on. Even with a remap from what I recall most seem to quote an extra 20-25BHP.

As far as I am aware nobody has actually confirmed with Mclaren?

Thanks to everyone. Reading through the thread posted 10 years ago, there is conflicting evidence between the supposedly 90 vehicles and the mention of 6 specific ones made one going to David Coulthard (see post n°11 in the old thread). I would think the 6 specific ones made sounds more reasonable. Concerning the quoted 390hp, I have doubts that this figure is correct without some very serious mods in the engine. McLaren probably worked around the ECU, so some extra hp was probably found in there. There doesn't seem evidence that McLaren replied or someone didn't follow up

Looks a decent car for the money and 1 I am sure will hold it's value, future collectable I would have thought.

Possibility but only with confirmation from Mclaren of works done.

I take it the engines displacement has not been altered? That would be more of a route to have gone down to produce the quoted power.

If it's a genuine mclaren job

If not , it's just another c43

Yes I remember that when I was looking for a C43.

Reading the ten year old thread and seeing some of the old members. I wonder what ever happened to Pammy and Mambo ? Met her at a Kent GTG I think.

I just sent a mail to McGregor asking if he still has his car or is this one thats advertised is his. I believe his was proven to be a genuine car.

If it is I might have a look myself.

Just spoke to the owner, same guy (McGregor) as in thread above, and also same owner of the car for 10 years!

Anyhow, he states it's just a chip tune, no other additions made by mclaren.

So even though the option is rare, not sure it will be a future classic.

Hmm me thinks not, possibly a silly question but what makes the 90 limited edition different to the rest??? Apart from the engine re tune.

Looking at the pictures I can see loads of AMG badges. Can someone please confirm I think I can see 1 mclaren badge on the dash, but I can't be sure, but I'd have expected to see more.

Looks like that ones had its pics taken on the sea front somewhere, so look out for rust.

390hp with a chip tune? Sounds like someone in the darkest of the underworld trying to attract his next innocent victim :D
