E280CDI Sport Est., CLK 200k Cab., VW T5 174, Citroen C8, and a 2CV!
Autocar this week (19/4/06) has a long term test of the C55 AMG estate they have been running for a while. It is good to see that the car gets a very good write up, only the paint finish and the dealers seem to let the side down (slightly) ... Not sure if it can be read online.

Might have to purchase that. (Magazine that it)

The C55 AMG is an absolute beast! The C43AMG I think is more than enough power for these UK roads, when do you ever get to really open the car up?

Also C55 AMG is very rare, which makes it so unique, did it share the 5.5 V8 from the E55 AMG at the same time? What prices do C55 AMG saloons fetch?

Think any AMG has too much power for UK roads if I were being honest with myself.

Ooo he wants to take more care of tht 202 55. Think there are something like THREE in the UK... And never mind estates. that could be the only 1 in fact!!!

power is like money, you can never have too much :D :D

Shaun do you know how much it was up for?

Even in that state I would pay a good sum for it and restore it to its former glory

Yep, definitely rare & unique. Not many W202 C55's out there...

Very very rare. The exhausts look wrong!!

Just a bit of dirt by the looks of it - mine (sadly) looks like that most of the time but cleans up well.

Unfortunately there's a bit of muck spreading going on in the fields near where I work and unfortunately I drove through a load that had been dropped on the road so just now not only is my car a bit dirty but it STINKS!

C55 AMG is car and a half... I have driven the Saloon version and it was seriously quick.

I read the Auto Car write up on the Estate yesterday as well and yes it was the orange peel affect that let the paintwork down as well as the Stealers.

I thought nano paint had solved all this?

P1 JOY took part in the 2004 Gumball 3000 Rally, and to be honest after the abuse most of the cars got in those three thousand miles, I wouldnt want to own one after that.

But I can confirm it was a "Quick Car". I was in Morroco, travelling on a new motorway on the way to Casablanca, I was driving a Porsche Carrera 4, flat out speedo indicating 160mph, and the C55 just cruised passed at 10-15mph more.

It must be one of the ultimate "Wolf in Sheeps Clothing"
