C55 Manual conversion.

A turbocharged M103 might fit the bill, 3.0 from a W124. The engine is an easy swap as the chassis is designed for it, and fitting a turbo to "generic car" is much more commonly understood and supported.

To reach your 400hp mark you'll need further work on a N/A 55 engine, and getting a 55K in and running properly could well be a step too far.

Thanks Doodle, I will have a look at that.
You think its gonna be around 55k? I was thinking around £15-£25k (including parts) . But I have no idea about costs of this kind of conversion. I saw few swaps from W124 and they run nice but I dont want to kill the engine in first year by overpowering it. Well if it that costly then for sure I will look for something different....
Thanks ;)

Lol..no a 55k is the term used for a 5.4ltr supercharged engine as used in the W211 E55, R230 SL55 and W219 CLS55 among others.
A N/A 55 engine "only" puts out around 350bhp compared to the 55K output of 469bhp.

Unfortunately along with the engine/box/prop/electrics etc etc you will have to deal with uprated braking and suspension as well.

If you have up to £15k to throw at a project so difficult as this I'd be inclined to pour the whole lot into an immaculate W211 E55 and have some cash left over for emergency funds.
A win win and saving on plenty of heartbreak on the way.

Good luck whatever you choose.

Sorry, 55K is the supercharged 5.5 motor, which would get you over your 400hp mark (and then some). However, there's a lot of extra bits to fit into a 190 engine bay - the charger, intercooler, cooler pump, pipework etc etc. A normal M113 engine is a tight squeeze as it is, trying to get all that in as well may simply not be feasible.

It is worth considering that the majority of the people doing these conversions are doing them on their own time as a personal project. Paying for a garage to do this on your behalf is going to eat into available funds very quickly.

By comparison you could turbo an M103 with a standalone ECU for a few grand

Thanks AMGeed ;)
hahaha that a great news, and I am laughing at myself now 55k hehe every day I learn something new lol.
Yea I know it is not only engine and gearbox which are going to be changed at that swap.
For sure I will check it, I saw this swap on 190 with amg 55 and I think I was over excited and didnt think straight haha
But thanks to you guys I got some more options now and are less complicated too.
So yea I will probably scrap m idea to go with amg 55 and go for something similar powerful but with less hassle ;)
Thank you ;)

Yep, the k stands for Kompressor (supercharger)
Its always a learning curve with cars. Doodles suggestion of turbocharging a M103 engine far more simply.

Yep, I know...
But unfortunately I dont have my place to do it, which I would love to make it by myself...
But there is a hope I will own garage in 2018 that the reason I am waiting with swap till 2019 ;)
I have an idea what need to be change and what kind of preparation/modifications are needed in car.
Problem on my side is what engine, what gearbox.
That I need to change rear axles, all braking system etc I know about it.
But the more info I get the better for me ;)
Like I said at the moment (past few months) I am collecting informations and looking for advises.
So you guys are very helpful, Thanks for that.
Hope one day we meet fr a cruise ;)

find a healthy Getrag gearbox for your car, some modification will probably have to be done.
Getrag is the best for you!
