Car
A **** heap
Guys its that time again the B service is due soon on the 55.

I have my usual indy that does everything needed.
But I'm thinking as the car is now 10 years old.. do i just do all the work myself..?

Do any of you guys service your own amg..?

Is it still worth having the indy do it just for the stamp..?
along as all receipts and papers to show its been done is there..?

Im not asking this as an option to cut costs etc..
as i would have got an eco car other wise... :)

Let me know your thoughts..

Do you feel competent enough to do a full service? The B service is considered the major one of the two so mileage dependent could mean 16plugs as well.
If you feel confident enough to do it, why not.
But if I were a prospective buyer, I'd be much happier to see a MB indy stamp in the book.

Hey Si

I normally do all the ancillary work myself, anything that needs a ramp or air tools to an indie, and then the basic service to my local mb dealer. This way I still get mobilio, cheaper labour on other bits and a hobby for the bits I still have to do :)

Exactly how I do mine! You can also supply your own oil to the dealer which will save a bit if bought in Costco! And it's still a full MB serviced car!!

I service all my cars and have done for years, I think the key is the invoice and good milage records of all the parts and oil used, and MB for mot and the free health check they offer each year.
MB for the oil as well it keeps all the genuine parts and invoice together and you can have the milage on each invoice.

Do everything on mine myself apart from servicing just simply for the stamp when it comes to sale time. On our other cars I am not bothered about the stamp but with the C55 I thought to be fair it is rare and the most likely person to buy it is a fellow enthusiast who would probably want a FSH and a mountain of receipts.

Thanks for all the input guys... i always thought an A service was the major of the two... currently got a quote of £376 on a B service at an Indy.
