C63 amg - estate of play: Fast wagons

Warms me cockles......estates rock. I have absolutely no need for an estate but I just just it is more stealth. I can live with the extra 0.1 second to 60mph ;-)

I think the Volvo T5 and the touring car series had a LOT to do with estate cars being thought as...As Cool

My dads always had estates and our lifestyle means they are so so much more pratical than a saloon. IMHO they always seems to look better also and not quite as common.

I would love a E55 Estate but running costs and not being able to fit a towbar :) would put be off. I'm happy with my old bus for now.

Good report though and thanks for posting

I worked for Volvo at the time that the T5R's cleaned up ...

On one race they cable tied a stuffed alsation toy (full size ) to the roll cage in the boot section and raced with it.

Pretty certain it was Jan Lammers driving at the time.

^ I would have attached a fake towbar and Caravan club sticker to the rear also :)

I've been in Scumbags C63,

it is very refined, very Mercedes like, it even rides comfortable, although he says it doesn't, it does.

It makes a nice noise when given welly, but they are pretty refined cars nonetheless. I would love one money no object. Hell, if I had a spare £40k, I'd have taken scumbags car off him. They are a nice size, big enough to be comfy but no so big you cannot drive with enthusiasm

I had an Audi S2 Avant, remapped to c.280BHP, 0-60 in the low 5s and stealthy as anything...sure did suprise some newer stuff.
