Hi all just sold my fourth c63 amg at a decent profit over what i paid for the car last june not bad motoring huh ? :D

Not bad? I'd say quite good.

Was it new to you? How many miles when sold?

This sort of thing usually happens when there's a waiting list, yet I believe that the wait is at most 2 months if ordered today.

I think this is untrue. Even if you got a 15% discount on a brand new one, I doubt you would be able to sell it and make a profit 7 months on. Only if a decent profit means 10s of £s . Its not like the C63s are hard to come by.

PS

You could have sold it to an ignorant friend or colleague who didnt do their research. Maybe an impulse buy.

I think I just felt a tremor, could be Nick exploding.

Congrats Don.

I have a feeling this is going to be the longest thread of the weekend!

I think he did well too...just interested in the figures...not having a go in the slightest. It could be a short thread with the relevant (and interesting figures). He did ask for our opinions.

There could be a waiting list for C63's or the car in question a desirable spec that would be worth paying over the odds to get, for not wanting to wait for the car to arrive. Time is money and convenience is worth its weight in gold ;)

Currently about 2 months from order to delivery...not so long really.

Maybe long enough though for someone to want to pay a little over the odds for?

Perhaps the buyer has a special trip lined up and wants his dream car for it?

Or maybe they cannot be bothered with the hassle of speccing a new car, dealers etc and would rather just have a nearly new car without the stress of running it in.

Seems to me, that a lot of our brand new car owners here aren't happy. @Mark springs to mind with all the issues with the trim. On a lightly used cars these can be resolved saving hassle.

So there you are, contract hire is not the way to go after all. :)
