C63 AMG - Remaps

I would say as a four door performance saloon the c63 is pretty much unbeatable.

Thanks Andrew, I didn't think you did...you could add them here I suppose.

Now re-added to the original thread! Was easy to do once I had the renaming logic for each link.

having had both for more than a test drive i would still say in a straight line the 63 and GTR are are neck and neck but if you tried to drive the 63 like the GTR you would kill yourself!!

I'd suggest that the transmission alone in the GT-R gives it an accelerative advantage but all that matters is that you're happy with the C63 :thumb: It's faster than most things out there, even AMG's other more expensive models!

maybe i'm being biased as i have only had the 63 for a couple of months! the 63 sounds better anyway worth the money just for the exhaust note!!

Yes, absolutely!

It's great that you've gone from a GT-R to a C63 and are loving it....when I was coming to the end of my C63 ownership (as I tend to do after a few months owning a car....some of us are beyond help), I had a good long test drive in 3 GT-R's. I tired 3 of them because I couldn't quite believe that I couldn't get on with such a highly regarded car!

The performance blew me away but it didn't sound anywhere near as good as the C63 (although it did have a rather unique 'jet' like sound) and I found the ride so bone-shakingly hard that there was no way I could consider it for a daily drive. I'm 100% sure I'd have loved it if I was after a toy but as a car to traipse up and down the M1 in, it would have driven me insane!

Perhaps, because as has many times been said...it's too good, to the point of being clinical. The C63 has the noise (above all) and the performance. And except for track days, you wouldn't want to test the cornering speeds of either car on a public road.

this is my fourth car in the last twelve months, had an RS4, S5 Cab the GTR and the 63. also have an x5m sport which does the school run

loved it, had some work done at MRC and was 460bhp on there dyno but they are a bit dated now. Good cars though but not in the same league as the 63

Hi Andrew how's life with the jag?

Absolutely love it thanks. Indeed, I can't believe that a) I'm saying this about a Jaaaaag at my age and b) I chose to ignore the XKR previously. It seems to combine all the good bits about all the cars I've had....it looks great in it's new face lifted guise (but people think it's an Aston :wallbash: ), it sounds very AMG-like with the XKR-S exhaust, it almost as quick as my 911 Turbo was (and will be once I've had the supercharger tweaked) and it's beautifully made inside. Can't quite vision what I'd replace it with although I'm sure that'll change at some point in the not too distant future.

My eyes are now on what to replace the Mini JCW for....I'm fancying a RR Evoque so will see whether they've started to depreciate in spring!

Hi,Sorry it's a bit off topic but what did you do with the headers and cats off your c63 Andrew.

Cheers Stu

I sold them with the car....I don't think the car would have sold particularly easily or work particularly well without them ;)

The picture below shows what the old cats looked like after they were removed!

If you compare how closely packed the cells are on this to the replacement cars on my other thread you'll wonder how any gases got through them!

That second video is a lot closer than I thought it would be...impressive on the C63's part!

The Turbo I had was something else...mine was a Gen-2 Turbo meaning the 500bhp version with all sorts of additional trickery and I've really never felt anything like it. I don't even think a Ferrari 458 that I subsequently had a ride in had the same ability to hook up and catapult oneself down the road like that Porsche and although Ive not been in one yet, I believe it takes the 2011 GT-R with it's 530bhp to match it.

Oddly, I never really liked the Turbo but I have utmost respect for the performance that car could deliver.

Hi Palmball - can you mail me please, wanted to ask about the work you had done over in germany to your c63,

thanks,
P

Skyline will blow the c63 !!! unless you place a supercharger!
