Hi everyone, been a lurker on here for sometime, great forum!

I've just ordered a C63 Coupe in polar white with porcelain / black leather and 19" titanium alloys. Unfortunately I've got quite a wait until delivery - March 2013, but at least it's ordered!

I've had to be good and not look at the options list except the alloys due to the car being on a 24 contract lease (not really worth loading up!). I can't believe how good the lease deals are.

It will be great to get back into petrol after driving a C350 CDI (remapped) for 2 years. The C350 CDI is going to my wife and I will also use for those longer journeys.

Very excited and can't wait to get some power again - my last car with any decent power was a 370bhp BMW 135i.

Mentally I am trying to prepare myself for the shocking fuel bill and I've used every trick in the book to convince my wife hahaha

Are there any interesting must do mod's or any things that I should be aware of?

I can't wait to hear that engine everyday - think I have seen every C63 YouTube clip that exists :D

Congratulations you will love the car, they are great. I just hope you are not subjected to the usual back lash and mindless comments that are leveled at c63 owners on here from some mindless individuals.

A great car, I just love the sound of the 63 on start-up!

But my lord, having to wait 4 months!! I couldn't do it....

Must have mods - Can be more expensive than prudent ticking of the options list!

Nice - here is my Polar white picked it up last week.

Wow , first post from the chap and already he's being warned by newbies about the quality of the forum , why not let him make up his own mind.

Welcome on board from me.

Personally I've nothing against lease deals , means there'll be a glut of cheap c63's at some point ready for people with ready cash. It's a win/win situation. You get a nice car now , I get a nice car a few years down the line.

Great news, am envious! Divorce consequences makes it too hard for me to justify just ow, but one day....

If you don't mind sharing, what sort of lease deal did you manage to get? Thanks

Welcome,

Having already had a C350, you will know what great cars they are.

The cold winter months will fly by in no time....

Happy to.

I've done a 3+24 month deal at 12,000 miles per annum. Only wanted 2 years due to the high running costs (especially in years 3 and 4) and constantly increasing fuel prices (I've promised my wife I will get something more sensible next time after I've itched this itch;)).

£625 per month with 1st year VED included (which is standard).

I'd been looking at lots of cars and really couldn't believe the contract lease deals.

The good thing about the C63 is the number of standard options like COMAND, sunroof, leather etc making the lease costs lower as I didn't need to add extras except the wheels which I am paying for on day of delivery.

Regarding mod's the only things that I have been thinking about are a remap (DMS or Evolve) and possibly a more free flowing exhaust.

It sounds like you're in a very similar position to me (car for 2 years, had to persuade the wife that it'd be a sensible car next etc).

Regarding mods, I will be looking to remap mine at Evolve. I've already been in contact with Imran (owner) and will wait until I've got a few more miles under her wheels before I commit.

Regarding options, I also paid for mine up front on delivery to keep the monthly payments low. I added the option 18" wheel (prefer the style and the 18" shod cars ride noticeably different to those with 19"s), privacy glass and the LSD. This was the biggie in terms of cost, but it's already paid for itself in terms of smiles per mile.

As for the wait, it will certainly be difficult. I waited just under 4 months for mine. However with yours due on 1st Mar 2013, and with the new plate, what are your thoughts about taking early delivery should the inevitable happen and the car arrive early?

I need to wait until March, I've been told that I need to take delivery by 31/03/13.

I don't want it too soon as my wife's Scirocco doesn't go back until April and not keen to be paying for 3 cars!

So if it comes early it will hurt even more!

I've ummed and arred about the 19"s versus the 18"s and I don't like the stock 18"s and do like the upgraded ones but I've always absolutely loved the titanium multi-spokes.

The other advantage of the 18"s is the lower running costs...

I previously drove a 335d on 19"s with runflats which was terrible, so a C63 with better suspension and non-runflats will still be vastly smoother :D

I understand your take on the 18" wheels! Although a very different / much lower performance car, my RX8 has 19" wheels. They look gorgeous in titanium but, ride suffers for sure. I am also preparing to hand the car back to the finance Co in a few months and new tyres have just set me back £250 each (and thats discounted) ouch

Nice, cant be many (if any others) C63s in Gibraltar surely? :)

Yeah there are 2 Coupe's I believe. Plus a C63 Estate.
Wish you could get the same kind of deals down here, hardly anything was standard, result is you are looking at £70k+ for a decent spec.

So at the end you either buy or hand back? What is the guaranteed residual on that?

Before anyone starts , i mean this question seriously .....

How does it stand remapping a lease car ? being that it's not strictly yours to modify ....

Do you tell them , or just do it and have the map erased when you hand the car back ?

Just hand back - I am sure that they will give me a price to buy if I wanted to.

Good thing about Contract Lease is that depreciation is fairly irrelevant, and usually included in the monthly cost.
