C63 AMG - black with black wheels
So I'm just back from the Nordschleife. Was without an instructor this time, and managed a 9:21.9 :D

Stopped in to rentaracecar on the way back, where I inspected and purchased a set of 18" AMG VI wheels, complete with centre caps, bolts and spacers. They also had tyres - Dunlop Sportmax 235/40Z R18s and 265/35Z R18s, though one of the front tyres was quite badly shredded.

Apparently Theo, who owns rentaracecar bought a C63 for use as a possible taxi for the Nurburgring F1 track, but found it was to hard on brakes and tyres for use on a track every day. I agreed after driving there as a rookie 9 days ago and wrecking my brake pads!

The shredded tyre was used for only one day, and has a big strip of missing tread around the middle. It needs to be replaced, and not necessarily with something brand new, and I'll have some perfectly useable road tyres. The wheels were fine, the few marks on them were only brake carbon or bits of rubber, and rubbed off easily. I reckon it's fairly decent for €1900.

Next project will be to find some semi-slick tyres, possibly used. Wont be for a couple of weeks though, as I'm taking the family to Cornwall for a week. Maybe get some taken to my next trackday, at Dijon Prenois on the 15th April.

Hi Beninlux, love the C63 with the black rims. Definetly the best colour combination! As you live in Europe you have access to some great tracks. I have been to Le Mans and Spa and a couple of other tracks easily accessible from st malo. Dijon is definitely on my list of to do tracks, but am away in April. Also unable to do GW until August. Very much looking forward to that one looking at the list of people and cars going.
Who did you book the Dijon track through?

Hello mate:thumb:

Booked Dijon through Pistenclub.de, they're nice guys and the instructors are very good.

They do days all over Europe, France, Italy, Austria, etc as well as Germany.

The website is in English too, which helps!;)
