C63 - Squeaking Brakes

When I took delivery of my car in January it went back in to MB after a couple of weeks as there was an annoying squeak upon light braking. Believe me, I had tried to clear it by hard braking and light braking and any other sort of braking I could think of, but to no avail.
The MB dealer tested the car and in the end replaced the discs and pads all round, which appeared to solve the issue.

However, after 2000 miles the brakes are squeaking again. Is this a known issue? I have not been back to the dealer yet as I don't want to be without the car for a couple of days again.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Yep very well known and will fade in time, I think most of us new C63 owners have all had this at some time. Mine was for the first thousand miles and then they were fine.

same here i have squeeky brakes .... i dont think there is a solution to this one as know one knows the real cause..... mainly due to brake dust i think but then i did read that the brake discs and pads mb use are prone to squeeks

mine squeak a bit, but i dont use them much ( esp. on trackdays !)

will it improve in time ...ive done 15,000 miles

It sounds like there's no point in going back to MB then!

I'll just live with it, as all the other noise is great!

I think the concensus on my squeeky brake query was copper grease on the shims would sort it out (as would anti-squeel pads?)...

Going to get my local inde to try this when I get round to it.

So far I've developed a way of braking which avoids it.

copper grease would help

but i have a question the car has a lot of power and most high powered cars brakes squeak when cold when they are at operating temp they stop is this the case with these brakes

?

In my case, it is the opposite. Nothing to start with slow-braking. Then after they've warmed up a bit - SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEL.

After delivery when the brakes squeaked, the dealer said that it was probably to do with operating temperature but as they squeaked when cold as well as hot, that theory was quickly discounted but I can't fault the logic.

Currently I am also braking differently to try and avoid the noise!

I will try some copperslip on the shims to see if it helps.

Cheers guys.

ive got same problem you have to regular clean it with pressure

15000 miles and only the occasional sqeak at low speed. This thread suggests this is a feature!

most new brakes will squeek a little
