Im gonna have to bite the bullet on this one i think and take it to MB also i have quite a lot of water vapour coming out of the exhaust !!!!! Hope they can sort it and i might be able to enjoy my first Mb

Also if my camshaft timing was out would it not store a fault code ??
Checked for faults again today P0030 came up but only comes on when after the engine done its little hunting thing.

Maf new
Breather hose new
Lambda Sendor New
Cam Magnets new
Cam Magnets modified wiring loom new

Cheers Guys

How do you know the timing is out? There would be other symptoms, the first being a light in the dash

:confused:I dont know the timing is out i need to know that is isnt i have a hunting prob the code p0030 is heating circuit temp not reached but the sensor is new also put a new thermostat in it and it has been better since get up to temp quicker

I have had a look at the throttle body it looks ok slight oil mist but very slight

im 99% sure i dont have another air leak but apparently there is a one way valve under the inlet manifold also i can smell the cat cooking and i get a bit of water vapour out of the exhaust occasionly:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

BillyC180k, P0030 is the code for a malfunctioning heater circuit. Are you sure that the sensor you replaced is either an original part or same spec as original lambda ? the cheaper lambda sensors (even those with a heated circuit) will not always work in Mercs. The cheaper sensors (the universal type) are not "PLANAR" zirconia sensors, and this is what usually throws the error code you are getting. Hope this helps. Good luck.

P.S. P0030 is the Lambda sensor before the Catalyst, Check you have the correct part. This sensor needs to get upto temperature quickly and is used for A/F mixture correction, this is what may be causing the "hunting" you describe. HTH

It is a bosch part just with out the merc star on it im gonna put a genuine one in it and see what happens i hope god it is i love this car but really disheartened with it now i have checked the feeds to it they are ok. Finger crossed ill let you know how i get on cheers:thumb:
