television: sure (if I remember my electronics), but the particular problem I have is selectivity, which I suspect isn't much to do with attenuation. If there is a fault, it's the selectivity of the tuner, but I don't expect you can do much with a poorly configured pirate radio transmitter broadcasting about 0.1Mhz away (certainly no FM receivers in the house work well).
If we had the facility to disable the mute circuit then they would work a little better, though with some noise, I find the COMAND antiquated in design and usage.
With the ones in the house if you select mono (I know thats lousy) this turns off the 19khz pilot circuitry that makes all of the hissing on a weak signal.
You have selectivity and sensitivity and you cant have both at the same time, we used to narrow the bandwidth in the IF stages to get good sensitivity, but that gives an impaired frequency response.
The old story though only with a better aerial system, and that goes for house or car
