Hi All,
I have deep lines on both front brake discs.
One mechanic said discs are okay only corroded,
And other one said discs needs to change.

Please have look at pictures.

Thanks

Definitely change them, easy job

Mine were like that until recently changed, they had done 52,000 miles and still worked fine, just looked unsightly.
I think you will always get ridges like that with drilled discs.

Replace the discs and the pads, as others said.

BTW, I have always maintained that grooved discs are caused by hard braking.

I have no proof of this, however I always brake very gently, and I drive slowly and plan ahead which again prevents hard braking, and never did I have grooved discs on any car I owned, even when the discs developed a deep lip and were down to minimum thickness. That been said, none of the cars had drilled discs.

Of course, there could be other reasons, debris caught in the brake pads, or wearing the pads down to metal etc, but my theory is still that grooves are caused by hard braking (which is part and parcel of fast driving).

What do people think?

I have had many cars with drilled discs and have never had discs that look like those posted by the OP.🤔

I am unsure why hard braking would cause this?

If the pressures on the pad is evenly applied to the disc I cannot see why it would cause the grooves?

I don't know either, but some cars develop it, others don't - and none of my cars ever did.

Is it primarily on cars with drilled discs that are getting close to the end of their service life?

Maybe this?

Using pads and discs from different manufacturers?

BTW, having Googled it, there are plenty of images online showing badly grooved discs, which are not drilled discs, so I don't think the drilling is the issue.

Discs and pads are the second most important items on cars. If in doubt, replace them.

(Most important are the tyres.)

My rears came in new at 24mm . Minimum thickness is 21.4 mm. Based on that I'd say yours are well worn. A quick Google yours are 32mm new , minimum thickness 30mm .

I'll join the list of those advising change the discs and pads.
