Can anyone recommend me some bulbs please?

I have a W203 and looking to upgrade the headlamp and fog lights on the car.

Would be looking for something legally bright and probably white. What would you recommend?

I think that some Phillips ones came out well in tests, I have recently bought some Halfords super bright ones which seem OK - H7 at £25 for the pair.

I wouldn't bother with the fog lights as they are hardly ever needed anyway.

I would go for one of the branded names mentioned in the survey. Those bulbs appear to be blue tinted ones?

I have tried a few on the H7 type - it depends on what you are after - styling? or performance?

I have some Mtech 4350K bulbs in at the moment - they are proper white - they look like HID's but are legal and just regular bulbs - they were mentioned in another thread a lot recently. they look amazing, but are useless as an upgrade - they don't throw out a whole lot of light.

I have in my "main beam" the Halfords super-brilliance bulbs - they were in the dipped beam before i got the Mtechs (and might be going back!) - they are a good upgrade on the standard bulbs - a bit whiter but a noticeable upgrade on the light thrown on the road.

Best I have tried are the Ring Xenon Max in my wifes VW - they are a good strong upgrade on the standard and probably as good as it gets legally - whiter than std and a lot more light on the road.

Search for the thread 'aftermarket xeons' with that spelling. Loads of post and some really helpfull hints on plus points and pitfalls with regards bulbs.

they do get good reviews from everywhere actually - I've not tried those particluar ones so if you get them please do let us know what you think of them?

I've just fitted some Osram Night Breaker Plus (90% more light) into my fathers Audi, noticeably brighter and a big improvement

The dipped beam lights on my 97, 300TD are just short of appalling, the G/F;s Fiat Punto has brighter lights, so whilst not wanting to go illegal with 100 watt items I am considering the new Osram Nightbreakers +90% @£27.95 or is it worth paying the extra for the new Philips X-treme Vision +100% @£46.95 . New Philips X-Treme Vision +100% with Same Day Despatch I am after light on the r oad and not looks, has anyone tried either of these yet ?? Is the extra £19 money well spent??
