My 230 2002 clk Kompressor cabriolet has a 10cd head unit. Where is the changer? What model changer goes with the blaupunkt head unit? I pick the car up on tuesday and cant remember seeing one when I was buying it.If its not there I want to put one in.Can other changers be used with that head unit and be controlled from the wheel? probably try to get one on ebay if its missing so wondered what the standard model was. Anyone know a good auto electrician in Poole? Cheers:)

Hi there,

AFAIK, there are no Blaupunkt stereos in the 2002 CLK - the standard MB audio systems are made by either Becker or Alpine and use a fibre-optic connection with a power loom. Standard MB changers are also 6-disc and not 10. COMAND *might* be made by Bosch who I guess are one and the same as Blaupunkt though :)

If it has a branded Blaupunkt then it's been retrofitted and won't be a standard MB unit. Have you checked the steering wheel remote controls and cluster info as it might not function with those unless it has some special kind of adaptors?

The standard location on these cars for the CD-changer is in the boot on the RHS, there's a small area where a changer fits nicely :)

Will
