280 CLK
Hi All,

I have a 56 plate 280 CLK and I loaded up the 6 CD changer and it worked ok to being with (just got the car.) Then I was shuffling through the CD's with the up/down arrows and it took a long time thinking about changing the CD with the clock hand rotating in the display. It then stopped and when I press the audio button on the central display it shows "radio" but CD is no longer an option and is shown in light grey rather than dark text. It isn't the end of the world as the car is still under warranty but just wondered if there is a quick fix? I have checked fuse 20 in the boot but that appears fine. Hope you can help. Thanks.

As the car is under warranty id get the company to fix it. The MOST Cd changer with the six disk cartridge are prone to failure. Repair can be anything from £100 upwards. Replacement of the whole changer is around £500. Get the warranty company to sort it.

If you have put any computer burned CD's with MP3's this can sometimes cause a problem, although the unit can play MP3's it doesn't always like some brands of Disc, You should still be able to eject the cartridge, check all the discs copied or not are clean as again this unit only likes perfect discs I have found in the past.
