I love almost everything about my e220 d Estate, except that I can't play any of my CD collection in it.
Can anybody suggest a player that is compatible with the car, ideally one that's portable and would fit in the glove box or somewhere ?

The only thing I can suggest to to rip the audio tracks and convert them to MP3, then use a USB drive or SD-Card to listen to the music in the car.

+1.
That is what I did on my W212 even though it had a CD player.
You can get a lot of music on a 64Gb SD card which I believe is the maximum useable size.

To make things easier, shorten the names of the folders as well as the music titles before copying the music to the USB stick.

Before copying, format the stick correctly in order to get rid of bloatwares and debris from previous use. I think it was "FAT32" at the time.

Welcome.

I just Google it and use the first one that pops-up on Google.... they all do the same thing, ultimately.

I know some people prefer one product to another, but to be honest, if all you want to do is rip CD audio tracks to mp3, then there's nothing between them.

Also, I much prefer the web-based HTML ones in general, to downloading software to your computer. No need to clutter the PC with software that is rarely used (unless you do these conversions for a living).

But ultimately it's all down to personal preference.

I would add though that you should be in physical possession of the original CD (and keep it in your possession) in order to not infringe on IPR.
