Dear fellow MB owners, I'm a new member in desperate need for
help. My CD changer is fully loaded with 6 CDs and was playing fine.
All of the sudden it stop playing and I'm unable to eject any of the CDs.
The display shows CD ERROR when I tried to eject or select a disk.

Appreciate any replies on how to "force eject" the disk or remove the
changer . thanks everyone.

The changer still have power. When press the buttons to eject I can
hear motors spinning and LED blink. But few seconds the blinking stops and display shows "CD ERROR".

Is the car still under warranty, if so get the CD player changed. They will remove your CDs for you.

I had trouble with mine, the car didn't recognise the player suddenly, and it was an electronics fault with the radio.

unfortunately the warranty is over, the local MB service ctr is a blood sucker  I will keep that as last option :(

thanks Brian.

Is there no auto electrician or car radio centre locally you could ask for guidance?

I do have details on how to remove the CD player if your interested. I have done mine for another reason.

PM me your e mail address and I will send you the details.

Same thing happened to my sons car, by accident, i disconnected the power supply, new battery:p , and low and behold, all worked fine after, and still no problem,. If you are trying this, make sure it is the power supply you pull from the cd changer and not just the lead to the head unit.

thanks Geoff

Thanks Geoff, will try that today. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

One concern however if I unplug the main battery will it reset the
ECU / computer, because when I changed the main batt, the technician ran the engine and said otherwise I will lose the
data stored in the computer ?

I just recently changed the small backup battery
which I believe will still keep the computer alive even if the
main batt. unplugged , am I correct ?

How sure are you that you have not inadvertantly jammed a second CD into the system?

Good luck getting the problem solved,
John

thanks to everyone.

Thanks to everyone responded to this thread, your valuable input help me to solve the issue ( and maybe saved a few hundred $ ).

Brian thanks for the video on removing the changer - without it
I won't dare to remove anything. Removing was certainly easy but
unknowingly the fiber optic cable was disconnected. Not sure what
to do I put the changer back without connecting FO and
the radio was forever in waiting  .

Struggling to figure out what is wrong, did I screw-up the
player  . After abt 30 mins I saw the "light" yes the red
light from the FO cables and the mating connector on the
changer. Connected it back :bannana: yes all works now.
Ejected the 6CD out. The rest plays fine.

I guess Geoff is right, the magic is removing the power.

I just bougth a CLS 2007 model ( black with red interior - looks very nice ! ) and i am experiencing the same problem - ie my CDC is not working. Can you please tell me which fuse i should remove in order to reset it ?

Also, could you please post the video on how to remove the CDC on you tube and sent me a link ? For some reason i cannot sent you a PM, therefore i cannot sent you my email address. Could i give you my email address here, in this forum or is it agains the rules of the forum ?
