I have a new white c63 and am thinking of a change of wheel colour as I understand this is easy to do.

What are the pitfalls of this and is powder coating the way to go here? I guess if you go for a dark colour any parking dings will stand out a mile ?

Bearing in mind its a white car what colours would you recommend. I want to make the car look a bit more aggressive looking

At present I'm thinking matt black or some sort of gun metal grey ?

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

ps using thewheelspecialist at Fareham Hampshire, are these any good ?

Any change from silver looks good IMO.

You can get away with pretty much anything given your car. Guys who did the refurb on this set said diamond cut are ticking time bombs.

Only 17s but think the colour suits the car...

Hi there,

I use The Wheel Specialist in Manchester. As you know they are a franchise so only as good as the people who bought the franchise, but I believe the umbrella company they are very good at ensuring quality standards are met by their franchisees.

All mine have been powder coated which Andy and Donna (who run the Manchester branch) recommend for the most durable and best looking finish. It's more expensive than painting, but I think worth the extra.

Just make sure they remove any powder coat from the portion of the wheel that fits against the hub abd re-torque the wheel nuts after a few days as sometimes the powder coat can thin when under pressure and leave the nuts slightly loose.

Matte black would probably be the way to go looks wise or how about satin titanium?

Colour is totally down to personal choice...IMO and at risk of offending people (not intended!), I think black has had its day for the time being.

I'd go for a darker grey/silver and as suggested matte or satin finish as the car if kept clean will be all the shine you need.

Either way, cracking car and very jealous!

hoping im doing the right thing colour wise. Looking on MB amg brochure the only option is black and it seems the bit of rim that touches the tyre is left silver presumably to reduce the visibility of kerbing ?

Decisions decisions !

Are the wheels like either of these sets?

so matt black is better than graphite grey etc in your opinion on a white car

I have has a few sets done in Birmingham at City Powder Coaters - £20 pet wheel in satin black. Satin looks v fine but so do the graphites.
