hi all , im just about to replace my battery on my e320, ive been told by a auto mechanic that it wont harm the e c u or cause any damage , to disconnect the battery and replace , is this right , I guess I will get warning lights upon the display when I have finished , but am I right in thinking so long as I turn steering lock to lock and go 4 a run all will return to normal ? he told me replcing battery just resets all the computers in the car back to factory settings and all will be fine ???? is this correct

Yes.

Windows will need re setting.

Make them go down to bottom and then hold button down for 5 secs, then do the same for the most upmost posistion.

Also: Disconnect NEGATIVE FIRST

thank you all, yes I was told the correct way to remove battery is negative 1st , and im glad you have confirmed no damage will result to computers in changing battery , also ign key removed and everything off when carrying out this job , only turn things on when battery is connected back up
