Hi,

I am thinking of 'chipping' my E320CDI. There are various companies claiming various improvements such as THESE guys and THESE too.

However, there is nothing like experience so I would be very interested if anyone can give first hand experience.

Many thanks!

You could have the car re-mapped for the (£395) price they are asking for the tuning box. You can pay a lot more than £395.00 for a re-map though.

Most people would go for a custom re-map over a tuning box although I know maddog (member on this forum) had success with a Van Aaken tuning box for many years.

Lots of things to consider though - mileage and condition of mechanicals - do you really want to put that extra strain on a car with say 80-100,000miles. If you went for the MB approved Brabus box (£1,400.00) you would only get a guarantee for up to 60,000 miles and they IIRC will not install the system after a car has reached 20,000 miles.

HTH.

Paul.

I had my MY09 CLK remapped by ChippedUK/Viezu Bromsgrove using their ST3 device. Rolling road results were dubious but the end result is I'm now getting circa 40 mpg on long journeys @80-90 which is ~15% up.

The lump is the V6 224 BHP stock 3.0 diesel rather than the older straight 6. Claimed remapped output is 266 BHP but I take that with a pinch of salt.

ChippedUK/Viezu are claiming:

E 320 3.2 CDI EURO3 195BHP (eco) +30BHP/+70 NM/+20% Economy (fast) +40BHP/+110NM
