Looks European! MikeC200 has chrome plate surrounds I think, his car is smoke silver (grey basically) and it looks pretty good. He has all the other exterior chrome though, C36-look. Quite a lot of the continental cars have it and it doesn't look that bad.

On your car, I'd not bother, esp with it being black.

I agree with Sym, a chrome number plate surround only really looks good on a silver car. My dad has one on his W124 and it just looks right. Chrome on black wouldn't look good imho. Have you thought about a carbon fibre effect number plate surround instead?

White and chrome go together well for some reason.
