E350cdi coupe sport obs black
Can the chrome trim be replaced by the black trim like on the night edition cars as say a retrofit ? If so would dealers stock the black trims for say an e class coupe??
Cheers

For some reason I can't post on the bodywork section : /

Oh now I realise similar to vinyl wrapping! I'll keep that in mind..

Funnily enough I am looking to do the reverse - I have the Black trim on a Night Edition but actually wanted the Chrome.

MB Main Dealer wants £1400 +VAT to do the job on an E Class Estate.

Olly at PCS and others have recommended Vinyl Wrapping the "offending" parts. I have had a quote of £350 for mine to be "Chromed" I would expect a similar cost to "De-chrome".

I shall be booking mine in shortly.

Wow really! I just don't like the chrome look on a dark coloured car, however on my current iridium silver w212 it looks fine as it blends but on say a black w212 I would really like to go for the stealth look so black rims black grille with black trim..

Good job we are all different; my car is the dark blue and, with the black lacks contrast. I firmly believe that it looks far better with the chrome. If I had a silver car then I could have accepted the black as a suitable contrast!

As for the wheels, well having had the car for about 5 weeks now - all I can say is that with the black detailing they look permanently grubby - more so than "dirty" silver wheels.

In my opinion - especially with my colour option I feel that the black trim makes the car lose presence and become just the same as the cheap end of the market - Peugeot - Vauxhall etc.

Vive la différence
