Can some one help me, im trying to understand if the front cigarette lighter does not work but the rear one does, does this mean that a fuse is gone or just my lighter up front is no longer working?

And if if it no longer working are are these parts easy to get hold of?

Sounds like the front cigarette lighter fuse is gone but the fuse for the rear one is OK.

If it is a W211, it should be fuse #13 at the front SAM.

Edited: I see it probably isn't a W211, would have to check if the wiring is similar but at least the fuse numbers must be different.

Looks like fuse #2 at F1 fuse box (engine bay) on a W210.

Thanks for the info will have a look at it over the weekend:thumb:

finally i got time to look at why my cigar lighter is not working.. i had a look in the engine bay and the fuses #2 and 5 are fine. I also looked next to the drivers side in the dashboard but there is no mention of a fuse for the cigar lighter..

please can someone point me in the right direction.

Did you have ignition on (usually the fuse can be put to one of two different slots, one gives power all the time, the other one is switched)?

Do you have a multimeter to check that the fuse has power? It could be a bad connection if the fuse is OK.

I dont have a multimeter so can really check will have to find any auto repairs who has a tool.

If the rear one is working how come the front is not are they on different fuse boxes?

Yes, different fuse.

To liminate if it is the cigarette lighter itself try the one from the back in the front.
Then you will know if it's the fuse or the lighter
