CL 500
Morning Everyone
My 2002 CL 500 - W215 Airmatic problem. The white airmatic warning came on, the warning then changed to red withing a couple of minutes. As I was gently creeping home, the slightest bump on the road started the rear end 'Bouncing', caused by overcompensation from the hydraulics and sensors, which wasn't a pleasant experience, even at 25-30 mph.
As a previous Citroen owner with the similar type of suspension, I experienced much the same with that. The Spheres were the cause on that occasion.
Before I go and source these, can anyone confirm if they have had the same problem and if changing the spheres solved the issue, as the W215 system is a touch more complex than the Citroen system.

Did the rear rise up to the bump stops, if so, it's a sensor error.

Dieselman, thanks for your reply
No it didn't hit the bump stops, the back end was ocillilation with a gradual reduction, just like a wave reducing in amplitude back to normal until the next bump on the road.

You have abc on your car not airmatic... Red error normally means a valve block or pump has gone.... The system will lock out when the error comes up so it doesn't do further damage, that it why the ride goes very bouncy.

Get ready for around £1k worth of a job (on the cheap!)...
