Hi All,

My CL500 (2000MY) CD Changer magazine is stuck in the boot changer and will not eject...command shows 'no magazine'...i have managed to eject once by fiddling around with tweezers but not sure how...i checked the magazine and discs but now its stuck again...i can see a mech movement across the top left side each time i press eject....any ideas how i can fix?

Thanks,
DSB.

looking in daylight CD2 is trapped...any suggestions..?

When you say cd 2 trapped what do you mean by that. I think the only option is to open it up.

if you look at the changer is shows CD numbers 1-6, i hace CDs in 4-6, somehow ther holder for CD2 has become trapped...it looks like i will take this to an audio specialist as i aint gonna start stripping apart, i may cause other issues...

audio guy got the mag out..says the eject mech is faulty, common problem he tells me..£90 for new mech fitted....will try removing CD carrier 1-2 before i order mech...

I had this problem, unplugged battery for 5 mins, reconnected. Job done, it worked!

When I bought my CL I had the same problem. The dealer I bought it from didn't want to repair it, but said they would fund me getting it fixed, within reason. I removed it myself (watch for the fibre optic link right in the bottom corner, its a pig to remove, and easy to break if you use violence), and sent it to a firm who advertise on Ebay - they fix all Alpine units for £75 including postage.

My CD came back with a stack of Indian music CDR's fished out from the changer, with a sticker saying that the unit will only work with original CD's, not home burned ones.

Much to my surprise I later received a £75 cheque from the dealer, Rix Motor Company in Warrington.

Note that while your CD changer is absent, none of the Comand features will work, because of the serial fibre optic bus - I panicked and thought I'd killed mine until I posted on here!

Hope this helps.
