CL55 Kompressor

^ it's a shame the rest of the car isn't made of fibreglass-no rust to worry about then!

Yeah, I wish it was. My car has a total of 7 bubbling spots with the driver door being the worst - there are 5 of them! Not idea why so but at least it will be easy to take care of.

Cl

I think you should get the wheels Sean ?

I must say the CL is a far superior design IMO :) :thumb: :p

Totally agree, MB have always been known for the elegance of their big coupes :D

Very true, each to their own and no offence intended.
My personal love of big coupes is probably down to spending my early years around such cars as ford capri's (sorry, had 3 in my youth!), broadspeed xjc's, batmobile csl's etc

.....This is one of main reasons I did not go through with the purchase of a CL55K. I had the option of buying a silver CL55K, 72,000 mls, FMBSH, 2 owners from new for 10k. I am more than pleased with my CLS55, i think it looks just as good as the CL. My partner seems to think the same also, especially since we have a second child on the way!!

I had enough of the corrosion drama when i drove Karmann Ghias and Beetle cabrios back in the early 90's. However I still tohink the CL is a lovely car. I still may get one as a second or third car (I have a mint condition E30 motorsport cabriolet).

I agree, CLS is lovely. This was the only 'wife approved' car on my list. I discarded CLS as soon as I set in one. After driving an ML for 6 years, sitting in CLS felt like sitting in the tank. Space around the driver is very limited and sitting position is quite low with dash raised up to your eyebrows. Ergonomics of the CL are remarkable due in part to lots of available space (duh!). CLS is a newer car though inside and out. I'm sure I would be happy with either. Both are striking cars with unmistakable design.

Great choice on the CLS55 and congrats!

I'm certainly enjoying my ownership of one :)

What model year is the car?

I prefer the CLS as well, they look amazing with the AMG kit and 19'' wheels!

CL's are very nice too, and very cheap now 11- 12K could get you a nice CL55K, that's great considering how much they were when new.

The CL is heavier than the CLS but they do have slightly more power 500bhp to 476 CLS55, so they are evenly matched, 0-60 the CLS55 is only 0.2sec quicker so obviously that's nothing and it's all down to the driver.

They both won't handle that well round the track with nearly 2 tons.

post 7- Fully agree a nice colour, if only they made more like that.

I'll say it again, not everyone likes a silver car and who needs nine, yes nine shades of black in a car range.

Mercedes have had some nice blues and greens in the past, let us hope they see sense and go back to some of them.
