CL55 Offset question.....

Thinking of replacing the wheels on the ol' CL and found an awesome set I like but the offsets/specs are as follows..
PCD/Offset: 5x112 ET32 (front)
PCD/Offset: 5x112 ET35 (rear)

The car already has spacers on with the current set on it but are the wheels above within the tolerances for fitment?

Hi CockneyPlayboy, is the offset definitely for a CL55 (W215 pre-kompressor) ? I'm asking as your car does not have any of the AMG body kit which was fitted to all CL55's(Kompressor or not). Your car has the 500 bumper, skirts and rear bumper.

What is the width of the wheels in question ? on a CL500 the lowest you can go the front is 8" et30, and on the rear 9.5" et35. Better yet there is alloy wheel guide available for reference in the "Wheels/Tyres" forum. HTH.

yes its definately the CL55.........you had the option of purchasing it without the bigger kit...though why someone would want to do that is beyond me but I can confirm it is defo a genuine AMG lol

Cheers, but I still disagree in regards to the AMG kit. CockneyPlayboy what is the beginning of the chassis number ?

WDB215.375 is for a CL500 (Engine code: m113.960), or
WDB215.373 is for a CL55 AMG non-kompressor (Engine code: m113.986)

Please don't get me wrong, your car looks absolutely stunning but you should just double check your engine code and chassis code to confirm. Also the non-kompressor models had the AMG logo inside the instrument cluster next to the rev gauge and also AMG door sill plates, AMG logo on the seats and the AMG logo embossed on each exhaust tip (komp or non-komp). Also each ABC suspension strut has the AMG logo on it too, this cannot in any way be replaced by a non AMG strut. The CL55 (non kompressor) did not have the wood steering wheel option :thumb:

The AMG logo on the seats was only on the later Kompressor, and yes you could have the wooden steering wheel option as mine has it :)

I can confirm yes on all points, chassis numbers - exhaust tips etc etc..... the lot. The car is 100% genuine AMG and if you pay nigh on £90k for a car you can pretty much stipulate whatever steering wheel option you want I'd have thought!! lol

SO... going back to my original question.... the offset for the AMG.....and tollerance.?? Want to crack on with the search for the new rims! Nothing too dissimilar, colourign etc just subtley different!

You havent listed the size and width which is also important. All you need to do is compare the et of them alloys to the et of the same size and width listed for the CL on the fitment chart below.

Alloy Wheels Direct Ltd | Fitting Chart Index

The ET of them alloys is already lower than the CL uses so you will need to take of the spacers and your car looks lowered so that may cause clearance issues.

Thanks I have checked the chart before posting but I questioned because the rims currently fitted are not the same offset as stated.

The wheels I am looking at are

FRONT 19" x 8.5 (Tyres 245/35/19) although I will probably reduce this slightly as I like the slightly stretched look as per my current set
PCD/OFFSET: 5 x 112 ET32

Rear 19" x 9.5 (Tyres 275/35/19) again will probably go narrower.
PCD/OFFSET: 5 x 112 ET35

.......also the current set on the Merc have an offset of 42
