After this weekends trip to Bruntingthorpe i've now got the bug to beat 200mph down the runway, and try to leave some of those Porsche's behind

So, i've managed to find a CL65 Kleemann with 739bhp and 1300NM of torque currently up for sale in Manchester.

The problem is, there's nothing wrong with my CL55 !
So, what reasoning is there to change to the 65 ?

What would you do ? (Logic is telling me to put the money to a deposit for a flat)

Bah, you dont want a slow 55, do the upgrade, then us peasants can watch the vids! :)

Plus, it has nice 'gunmetal' alloys

Toughie but, if you're looking to buy a flat I would keep the CL55 and save the dosh for a deposit for the new property.

Could you not do some upgrades to your CL55 as opposed to buy a CL65?

S.

Keep the 55 mate and invest the £54k in my lorry business

You know you want the CL65 !! :D

7 hundred and how many Horses ??!!

Buy the CL65 and live in it !!

Have a word with DMS Automotive and see what they can do for the 55 - the 65 is overkill! Join a Supercar club if you just want a few blasts to 200mph.

Lol @ live in it ;). The 55 is so 'you' Matt - logic says 'save' the 54k. U enjoy ur 55. But how many chances are there to buy a <censored>bhp 65?...

Sorry, I make ur life no easier! :D

nothing wrong with my 55

????

Cos its not rusting is it ;)

(sorry...)

whats wrong with 100bhp of Nitros? A better exhaust / race exhaust / race intake system? Chipped? All of that has to be only a few grand...

We are past the peak of the property bubble, any property you buy now will depreciate by approximately £54,000 over the next few years. So the CL65 would be a much better investment really.... honest

I wish I had £54k never mind an extra £54k but if I had got it to spare I reckon I would go for the 65

My sensible head is on - you are in a fortunate position in that this is an option, but it's clearly either one or the other, otherwise you'd have both  - so the fact you have to ask to me means it is not the right choice to go for the car, imho. Yes the housing market has slowed but prices are not going to drop that much and now is a good time to buy - if you are in a position to go - you can negotiate a really good deal. ;)

I agree with Stats - get in with a club and play with lots of different toys - then you've always got something new to look forward to :D :D

Firstly I would love to be in that situation :D What I dilemma.

Seriously though your have a very nice and very fast car. If you dont have a property already then I would really say that is where your money needs to go.

Spend a few grand on some extra horses for the 55

My input goes like this:

Although I'm not offering any solutions, there must be plenty of ways of doing 200mph for well under £54,000. Keep the 55, spend less than 54k on something else that does 200. After all, apart from the magical 200, what else will the 65 offer you that the 55 doesn't?

What a dilemma. Must be terrible for you Maff. Hope you're able to sleep properly. ;)

I've often asked friends of mine the following question:

"what's better than one turbo...?"

The answer (apart from a few normally aspirated freaks) is always:

"two turbos"

I'm not sure if I'd go for a modded version, but the CL65 is the perfect balance of insanity in understated clothing.

Anyhow, it's a rollover this weekend ;)

Keep the 55 and buy an Atom with a turbo or supercharger, now that would be fun, even the great Clarkson liked the Atom. You can drive one at Bruntingthorp to see what its like. What a dilemma to be in. Whatever you buy be safe and enjoy to the max.

You only live once and if you can afford it and its what you want, then go for it. An enviable position to be in.

I've just watched your videos once again and to have an extra 200bhp at Bruntingthorpe would be fun against those other cars! Especially if you had three passengers with you and still beat them all! :bannana:

The CL65 is a truely awesome car and still very rare. There do seem to be a lot more CL55's around these days. Perhaps they are abit passe now ;)

Are you considering the one possibly available in the Teddington area?

Keep the 55 (fix the rust though ;)) and get a Caterham CSR 260. 0-60 in 3.1 is surely more useful than 200 mph in a straight line! The CSR will do 155 anyway, which isn't too slow ...
