Hi All,

Just a bit of collective advice wanted really....I have a CL55 Komp and although the steering wheel is quite nice I was wondering if this can be swapped for a later style wheel with the paddles and flat bottoms !!?!? like those in later AMG's.

Having looked at some of the later wheels, they all seem to have the relevant buttons for the phone, volume etc

If it can, is it a nightmare job to do ??

Thanks a lot for your help

Welcome to Forum and the Very Exclusive  CL55AMG Kompressor Club. :thumb:

We need lots of photo's and all of the details of your recent purchase.

I wasn't to impressed with the " The All Leather Steering Wheel " so I changed it to a Wood & Leather Wheel, similar to the CL500, 600's.

I had to give up the manual gear changing buttons. However way way back someone on the Forum managed to fit Flappy Paddles, which looked brilliant.

I don't know if you can put later steering wheels on.

If the wheel fits and everything else works you can use the later style paddles. Command.co.uk sell a paddle shift convertor to allow the new style paddles to be used with the older model cars like yours. You can even graft these on the wood/leather wheels from CL500/CL600 models although you will need to be brave and cut into the back of the wheel to fir the paddles.

Paddle shift converter module for AMG buttons to AMG Paddles | Interior | Mercedes Retrofits | Comand Online Ltd

Hope that helps.

THanks guys !!!

I'll look into the option of fitting paddles, but would like to the new sportier wheel....might need to have a look at the connections on the back which work the buttons.

Shouldn't be that difficult to re-connect though I assume

Thanks for the advice and yes I'll stick some pictures up of the beast, It truly is a mental car, frighteningly quick !?!?
