Clarkson, The End?

As already eloquently mentioned, the perpetually offended woke do not deal in facts but their "own truths". This is not only delusional but also based on hypocrisy.

Example:

Jo Brand saying about Farage "Why bother with a milkshake when you could get some battery acid?” The BBC said nothing to see here.

If Farage had said that about the Markles, or even Brand, his feet wouldn't have touched.

The Prince of woke sees no dilemma with preaching that others should display compassion ... but it does not apply to him. His truth is different.

Clarkson should not have apologised ... the woke have no scruples. He'll still come out the other side smelling of roses.

I like how Amazon have taken a firm line with him. He doesn't stand for the same as they do so they will not be using him again, ever. They have morals are are sticking to them.
Well, once s2 of Clarksons farm has aired, and they've finished making s3 and aired that. Oh, and 4 more GT specials. After those things they've already invested in, then they will uphold their morals.

Your comment isn't entirely wrong, but it's not entirely true either...:

Clarkson should not have apologised ...

His apology was a noble act, in my opinion - he apologised because he truly felt he did something wrong, and regardless of whether others might or might not accept it (he even said he knew his apology won't be accepted).

Not same thing... Farage is not a professional comedian... Jo Brand is.

If Farage told his constituents any of the things that Jimmy Carr tells members of his audience... he'd get arrested.

Anyone not familiar with the geography of Newcastle probably does not know that just 2 months after the 'comedian' Jo Brand made her Farage battery acid 'joke' a Newcastle lawyer was stabbed to death very near to where the Farage milkshake incident occurred. Wonder if this was taken into consideration when the BBC, who as ever were allowed to investigate themselves, came to the conclusion that what she said did not incite violence.

It wasn't art and it wasn't humour. It was an unprovoked outpouring of hatred aimed at a named individual.
Decide for yourselves how appropriate or inappropriate it was but realise your decision influences society as a whole.
That is personal interpretation.

Taken in the context of Clarkson and his "style" it is what it is.

The woke herd will rise up against it. Those with a more circumspect approach will take a different stance.

You can just choose to6 ignore it and starve it of the Oxygen of publicity or apply circumspection and the ability to analyse it who will see it as commercially led bluff and bluster as is his MO.

You don't have to be offended by it, you can choose to ignore it

Either is a choice and either is valid.

Each have diffeent outcomes.

Let us not forget that the Sun chose to publish his article.

Great PR.

A bloke with less than a decade to live.

Why should he spend that time doing more Grand Tour and Farm? He has plenty else he could do that would be less stressful.

There's a petition on change.org asking ITV not to cancel Clarkson. So far it's got 38,000 signatures. Will be interesting to see if ITV cancel or not.

He's become the beer-belied middle-aged bloated bore that he once was so fond of taking the mickey out of. Sad because if he kept his mouth shut & controlled his computer mouse he is a skilled wordsmith. Am rather tired of him, time for the petrol-head nursing home me hopes.

Huh, Clarkson is only 62. are you saying he won't make it past 70.
Being already 7 years older than Clarkson, that would mean my time is nearly up. I hope I last longer than him, mind you it wouldn't be hard to be fitter than Clarkson would it.
Yes, I was. Jeremy writes about his own poor health (as does James May) and how he used to worry about The Big C every year but now he worries about diabetes because it would be "feet cut off time."

In the last 18 months alone he's had a nasty accident with farm machinery and a difficult bout of covid.

And then there's that very fit young companion of his.

Did you look this old at 62 ? I think he looks slightly younger than Charles, who is 74.

(Don't begrudge him anything. "Full life, well lived" But let's hope he gets a grip and soldiers on OK)

He does look a mess. I’m 70 and I thought he was older than me.

Does JC still smoke?

Edit: I see he does not. Has he given up too late to reap any benefit?

My mum gave up smoking when she was 80. Better late than never.
Indeed. Given time lungs recover from the effects of smoking.

Talking of how some people age have you seen the clip of Eddie Izzard aged 60? I won't post a picture.
