I would have liked to have sent a PM to a CLC owner, but unable to do that at the moment due to lack of post count. :(

If any CLC owner could answer my query that would be great.

Car is 4 weeks old and 300 miles on the clock. When the doors are closed and engine switched off I can hear a humming sound coming from the overhead console, (interior light switch area), not loud, but it is there. Does anyone else have this and is it a fault? I don't really want to return it to the dealership if it's not a big problem.

I would take it back to the dealership anyway if they are close by as with only 300 miles on the clock your still well within the warranty. Cant do any harm getting them to have a look.

There is a small fan in the overhead console to sample the cabin air for a sensor linked to the air conditioning unit. It may be this you are hearing. I answered another post about this recently-not sure if it was on this forum or not. It concerned a new CLC also. My advice is to take it back to the dealer-its probably been faulty since new.

After many weeks of ownership for some reason the kids or wife was left in the car, after a while something lowered out of the roof or overhead lighting console.

had to ask the garage, think it was to do with the alarm, I was away at the time.

Hello Graeme. Yes it was me on the other forum that asked the question and I did take on board your answer. I was wondering if it was just specific to the CLC and if any other CLC owners had experienced the same thing.

My dealership is in Boston a round trip of 45 miles, so not really worth a special journey unless it was serious. Will definitely mention it the next time I'm in that area.

I may send them an email and ask the question.
