Cleaning my car for the first time today I've noticed that there are loads of little crevices for dirt to get stuck. Some are MUCH easier to clean than others. What sort of methods / products / equipment are people using to clean such areas as those shown in the photo? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Those little sponges you can buy from tesco etc. They usually have a scouring side - don't use that side!
They are quite firm and have a very square edge - good for getting into tight spots.

.

Pressure washer

Spray WD40 into the crevices, the dirt & tar spots will melt away & then use the sponge & soapy water.

I bought a set of 3 "nooks & crevice" cleaners...

essentially, 3 tools with 2 ends each. A small brush, a small rubber point, a medium stiff brush, a 2-pronged thing, and... I can't remember.

Works a treat! I can get pics if you want...

I get right in there with the diesel-powered steam cleaner. That will get rid of anything mate.

Including Paint ;)

Not wrong there, in novice hands these things can be deadly.

Its usually ok provided there are no rust spots, I saw one of these actually blast through rusty spots on a W202 C280 and leave holes.

Still, they do the job for us.

I was going to suggest cotton buds. But a toothbrush probably as good, my friend does his wheels with one! Commitment or what! :D

PS Ian Mac, like your mk2 golf, I had one just like it :D

Thanks, I do have a soft spot for White Mk2's. I wish I'd had the garage space to keep it. I just couldn't justify keeping the Merc outside when I bought it.

I spent best part of a year looking for the right Golf.

Just found this also....
