Hi everyone - I cant seem to deactivate my EC button on my climate control set up all of a sudden! The car is a 2001 w210 and the system was fine up until a week ago - now the light does not go off and I cant get the system into EC mode either. The rest of it seems to be working fine except this - any ideas anyone?? Please help!

i think the light means a problem ....what i don;t know ....check the hand book it might give hints might have to run a diagnostic at the dealers

Should be a simple recharge - once the system is below a certain amount of pressure, it will default into EC mode to protect the A/C compressor from running without gas.

Over time the gas will naturally leak out of the system, so you may find a simple recharge (£60ish) will do the job.
How long have you had the car? If you only bought it recently and the AC was working OK, could mean it is a leak that was sorted by a recharge to sell the car
If you have had it from new. 5 years would be about right for a bit more gas
