Climate Control that I can't control !

Any idea why my W251 climate control won't let me adjust the temperature? I've only had the car for a week and this is another problem I'm determined to sort out so that I can start to like it! I've already found the air intake box full of water and unblocked the drain hole so my car doesn't mist up anymore and now I can drive it in the rain.

Today's problem, is the passenger side is stuck on 16 degrees and when I turn the dial, it flicks between 16 and 16.5 but always goes back to 16.

Driver's side is currently on 24. It'll go up when turned clockwise, but won't go down when turned anti-clockwise.

So, my passenger freezes and I've got to drive with my window down which at least gives me the confidence that the car is able to blow hot and cold air, it just won't let me choose how much!

Unfortunately it's a used car. I'm going to try the Used Car Dealer I got it from but I'm not optimistic and was hoping there might be a quick fix or that I'm doing something wrong.

Oh deep joy. No doubt that'll be a small fortune and the place I bought it from will do all they can to avoid contributing.

Ha ha - I feel like this thing's going to cost me a fortune. I change cars quite regularly, but 1 week could be a record if anything else goes wrong.

Take it back and reject the car if you dont like it. It has faults so you are well within your rights.approach the dealer and ask him to fix it, if he starts getting ****y then reject it for the full amount you paid. Make sure to keep records of when you were there, what was said and and offers made. It all counts when you take him to court.

Yeah, cheers, I'll have to look into that option in case it comes to it. I hope not, because I like the car and paid slightly over what it was worth because it looked mint compared to others and if these are just some minor faults that get sorted I might be happy with it eventually, but my gut feeling tells me otherwise.
