I need some Help

I have purchased this car in July 2016 and it has been running fine until recently.

Issues I have discovered happened overnight:-

  1. Cannot lock/unlock the car from a distance. (I can unlock using the fob standing next to the door handle sensor)
  2. Upon opening of the doors, usually the windows open slighly and this doesnt happen now (both when opening and closing)
  3. When closing the door, the seat belt assist doesnt come forward. (usually this comes toward the hand when the door is closed)
  4. Indicators / Hazards / Remote lock lights do not work.
  5. Fuel gauge doesnt work.
  6. Dash says error with display, please visit workshop
  7. Boot doesnt unlock when doors are unlocked. (Boot button on door doesnt work either.)
  8. Boot light / door courtesy lights do not work
  9. Rear screen's Heating button doesnt hold for longer then 2 seconds
  10. Reverse lights not working
  11. Rear fog light not working.
  12. Interior alarm button (car with waves button) is flashing.

I called the AA out as I had a flat batter because the alarm lights randomly came on at night and i didnt notice for 5 days (as car parked in garage) This issue had become temperemental.
They have suggested it could be the SAM console. He checked all the fuses and they are in tact. Mechanically, the car is sound and electronically, this seems to be the only issue.

Things I have tried:-

  1. Re checking the fuses front and rear SAM (No issues with fuses)
  2. Looking for water damage (No issues)
  3. Removing the battery for 24 hours (Seemed to resolve the problem temporarily)

Yesterday After removing the battery for 24 hours, The car worked great for a day. This morning, it has gone back to the way it was.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum.

Find a local MB specialist (not a main dealer) and have the car checked with the MB Star computer.

Star can interrogate all components and will find specific faults. Anything else is probably expensive guess work.

Looks like rear SAM to me.

Rear sam?

Looks like rear SAM to me.

Hi,

Thanks. I have had 3 companies say the same thing. AA said it was the rear sam also but he couldn't confirm after plugging in his diagnostics machine.

I just want to be sure before splashing out.

Is there anything I can try before taking that route?

Yes, get it on a Star to be diagnosed.

Id go with a faulty SAM too.
