CLK 280 V6 - 06 on - good choice ??

Hi -

after a major re-think I have decided to go for a CLK - facelifted model 06 onwards - what's the general concensus on the petrol 280, performance etc - any real faults ??

quite a change and tbh I can't really see any advantage over similar engined E class apart from a percieved style POV.

In saying that a 350 will give similar economy and more performance.

350 is probably a better compromise if its possible, but i'm sure the 280 (3.0 V6) will have plenty of performance and average mpg

Not quite the same model, but been given a brand new C280 2008 a few times as a loaner from local MB dealer.

Great engine, very quiet and very very refined. Good on fuel too returning about 32 mpg when I had it.

The 350 is obviously quicker, but also alot (!) more expensive.

Why not also consider the 320 cdi engine.............drive both and then decide..

280 is a perfect engine for the W209.. 240 is good but the 280 has a little more of a kick... 350 is even better but more thirsty for not a lot more power.
