Hi All,
I'm having a problem locating the gearbox ecu on my 2000 clk
Komp A.
I'm trying to find it to replace or mend it.
The reason is that my youngest decided that the centre console cavities would make excellent mini boating lakes.
Two cans worth of coke seeped downwards and immediately after
the gearbox went into limp mode.
A friendly merc man popped it on to the computer and announced
the ecu had gone, and that it should be located on the passenger side of the tunnel under the centre console/lido.
I've looked and can see nothing. I contacted a few merc dealerships
and was told.... it may be in the passenger side footwell, one nice lady sent by email a pic of my car with an arrow pointing toward the rear of the closed bonnet, the third was sorry but couldn't impart any info due to 'health and safety' issues, and warned me I might electrocute myself.
I'm leaning toward the centre console area, because of the fizzy drinks.....can anyone tell me exactly where it is? And although I would think my problem is a pretty unusual one, is there a cure?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated....I love the car and don't want to rip the interior, or elsewhere out.
Thanks, mart
