Evening all

The beast AKA C43 is now out for the summer

I notice a huge difference in acceleration between it shd the CLK430

I know the CLK is fly be wire , and the 43' good old fashioned cable , but should there be such a noticeable edge in pick up?

The 43 just seems to want to go and reacts instantly where a the 430 seems more "sluggish" if that's the word ?

Is there a way to adjust the throttle on the 430? I have done the in car adaption reset

I must add that the 430 is runnig sweet as a nut and is by no means slow

I also know the 43 has more BHP (Alberti nt much ) and the CLK is a bigger car

The C43 is fly by wire as well, as in the throttle cable actuates a potentiometer rather than a mechanical throttle valve, the clk depending on year I believe could have a slightly later more modern fuel injection system than the C43.
Weight wise there shouldn't be to much difference between the 202 and the 208, as they are built on the same floor pan indeed I would expect the 208 would be slightly lighter (look at the sill plate/sticker it states the axle weights/combined weights, C43 iirc is 1840kgs).
There is a way of making the throttle "pedal" react quicker if you wanted google "pedal box" or "pedal commander" there is a another more well known but the name escapes me at the moment, they all work in a similar way though.

The c43 is a 1998, the CLK a 2001

I did not realise both fly by -

Hi,
If you look on the passenger side under the bonnet just to the rear and centre of the top of the shock absorber on the C43 you will see where the throttle cable terminates to the throttle pot, the signals from this are translated and transferred by wire via. the ECU to the electrically actuated throttle body at the back of the centre of the V in the inlet manifold.
To be honest I would expect the CLK to be exactly the same though the clk does have a slightly more modern fuel injection system but I would still expect the throttle actuation to be the same.

Spintbooster. Lots on this forum got one a few years ago.

C43 is an AMG. CLK430 is not!
