CLK W209 Cab when I use the remote to open the boot it opens all the way. I thought that in the cab it should just release. It did on the W208

Are the dampers U/S?

Some do and some don't.

I think its prefered that it opens fully by most people.

Is there a special trick to this for the 208..? My remote does not have a boot option on it. Just the release button on the dash..?

Mine is however the pre facelift version so that may answer the question.

My 208 is a pre facelift too and the only boot release is a switch in the car. No release on the key.

I recently renewed the springs (look like gas shocks) because although the boot lid released remotely it was pretty heavy to lift... the old 'springs' as MB call them were tired for sure. Once the new ones were fitted the boot still does not open fully on it's own (as expected) but, to the delight of my wife, it's much easier to lift open now.
