Clk electric mirror problem

It seems on my new car CLK320 06 model that the electric mirror housing on the drivers side will work to retract the mirror but will not allow the mirror to return to its normal position.

The mirror it's self moves correct, it's just when you close the mirror towards the door when parked and then try to put it back to drive.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Possibly a broken wire, common with folding mirrors.

Really strange, I went through the settings put the mirrors on auto for when you lock and unlock the car and now all works fine.

I read about a fault the previous owner had with my clk which sounds similar to this one. The dealer replaced the switch inside to fix it apparently.
