Hi all,

My 99 CLK has one touch down on the windows and the switch has the two postions for both one touch up and one touch down but it does not work going up..!

Is it supposed to..? If so, do I need to have it plugged in to STAR to get it work..?

Thanks

Just turn the key to 2, hold window button down for 10 secs after it has closed, do the same in the up position and you will be a happy man

Thanks Television,

I'll give it a go when I can be brave enough to run down to the garage in this p***ing rain..!!

BUMP.. Sorry gang. Still no joy. Are they supposed to have a "One touch up" function..?

yes we have discussed this before, its to do with the lack of a hard top but doesnt explain the SL!

This has been discussed at great length before and it is not simply because it is a cabrio because some W208 cabs let you do this too! It is presumably a software setting on the door control unit.

Thanks Shude, Perhaps a session on STAR could sort it for me..????

If it is definitely a software option then probably yes. It would be interesting to see what would happen if you swapped door modules with a coupe.

I'm sure somewhere there is a thread on this forum where W208 owners said yes or no to one-shot window closing!

I think all CLKs have one shot up and down windows .. the thread was about which CLK had the comfort closing feature (i.e. window drops a little bit when opening doors, and goes up the same little bit to seal when door is closed)

have the same thing here windows will only roll down on one touch and not up!! ive been told also that its a install/option at the factory - beats me!

208 cabs do have 1 touch closing (only on the front windows tho)
they need to be re-adapted with a star if they lose their memory.

Just to mix it up a little more the SL is one shot up or down, I will have a look this evening on the 208

Reading all of the info the windows must be de normallized either on STAR or taking off battery for 10 mins.

Top normallize.
(1) both doors closed ign on

(2 )Move the widow to lowest posistion by pressing window switch in posistion 1

(3) Move power window switch to posistion 1 to close until the door window is fully closed and then hold for at least 3 sec

(4) disconnect battery and re connect

(5) check coding for radio

(6) perform operation check

You do have the one touch feature

After 06-2000 the windows use an anologue system and different things apply

Thanks Television,

It's late and dark but can I ask a really silly question. (Or rather 3). Think I missed the plot somewhere or rather did not read your post correctly. I tried the reset but did not remove the battery for 10 mins first. I'll try that tomorrow but question 3 still stands below.

1. When you say ign on you mean position 2 all the way but not as far as turning the car on..?

2. When you say using window button to pos 1 you mean not full on just to the first stop..?

3. to disconnect the battery, does it matter which terminal you pull off..? ie pos or neg makes no difference..?

Am I thick or what..

(1) all the way but engine not running.

(2) It does not say, I put it up word for word and just re read it

(3) take off negative terminal

(4) No you are not thick´, some of these things are hard to follow

Re reading this I was flummoxed by the wording on the switch, it has now sunk in, posistion one on the switch is the first posistion, so that means not all the way down

Things will seem better in the morning:):)

I asked a Mercedes dealer and also Steve from Kent at a GTG about this on my CLK cab.
There is no 1 touch up on a pre facelift CLK cab.
