Could someone please tell me where to find (and hopefully how to replace) the PSE in my 2001 CLK (W208)

Mine is in the boot, behind the LHS panel (from memory, this more or less just pulls away). Trace it by finding a pair of orange fiber optic cables running to it. It should be attached to a metal bracket bolted to the metal "frame" (sorry, not the right technical term I know) inside the boot. Carefully undo the 3 nuts. Very plug and play when you locate but be careful with the cables, especially the fiber optic ones.

whats PSE?

Don't know what it stand for but it's a phone control module for the Mercedes factory fit telephone systems. Generally need to change them if you want to upgrade your phone, i.e. Nokia 6210 to Nokia 6310i the new UHI system negates this.

Another PSE in Mercs is Pneumatic System Equipment - the unit that operates the central locking, etc.
