CLK Speakers Missing

Hi peeps, was thinking of putting a sub in teh boot of my clk when noticed speaker feed from the speakers on the shelf as i dont have any, lifted up the grills from the inside but all it has is these foam inserts.... any ideas? or do you think previous owner removed them??? I have heard that some only have one anyway but surely its strange not to have any.

I have never sat at the back to never realised all the sound stage was at the front of the car..

sad to hear that but never the less as long as the wires are there and you know the measurements you can buy some and fit them with out any problem, some pioneers or alpine would be good in my opinion

just went to have a look no wires... was the back speakers an option???

if the wires are NOT there then unfortunatly they must be have been an option if you pop down to your local dealer and grab the CLK brochure and options list you can check for shure if they are an option. If i have the brochure ill check for you. Sounds real stupid though if you ask me Mercedes of all cars having rear speakers as an option even on an Avantgarde the range topper

Given similarities between the 203 and 209, I suspect the hi-fi options are the same too.

In the 203, only cars with the optional BOSE hi-fi have speakers in the rear deck - and then only on one side as it's a sub.

I would imagine it would be possible to retrofit speakers there though.

Just looked in the price guide.. defo no option for rear speaker meanin it should be stock ... but no wiring so very confused ... the speakers from my w210 are 17.5 cm

That must mean the previous owner must have taken the rear speakers and cut the wires meaning the must have fallen a bit back, you may have to look harder because they MUST be there somewhere, try both sides see if there there on the other side and measure the rear speaker space that way i can advise you on some good speakers to buy.

Sounds like they have been changed on the facelift models.If I remember right on my old W202 they faced upwards.

1999T Yes 2 in the rear shelf 1 on either side.I reckon about 6inch dia.

Hi, no there are no speker grills in the rear side manels just at the fron and rear of the roor mate.
