CLK W208- 18" Tyre sizes

I've got some 18" AMG Style IIs this weekend of an W210 with the following tyres on them.

ET 31 Fr
ET 35 Re

BACK TYRE SIZE- 265 35 18
FRONT TYRE SIZE -235 35 18

Would those tyres fit onto my car or do I need to shift a size down? Seems a shame to waste the tyres.

had a look on the fitting chart Alloy Wheels Direct Ltd | Fitting Chart Index and there's no direct comparison for tyre and wheel size on it.

Hi Mick,

You'll need 225/40/18s on the front, and 255/35/18s on the rear really. You might *just* get away with the existing tyres, but the back ones will throw the speedo/gearing out slightly - plus could catch slightly, and the front ones might rub a bit - especially on full lock.

IMHO, the best thing to do would be to sell the set of used tyres on - plenty of people buying part-worns it seems, try eBay etc

Then you can choose whichever tyres you like in the correct size - that's what I'd do anyway

I could put the tyres that are on the car at the moment onto them as they are the correct size. It's the hassle to lugging them to the tyre fitters to get that done.
