So my FD was telling me she is going to get her windscreen replaced and mentioned about a black line across it.

I had a look but I've never seen anything like it before.

The screen has a series of thin black lines - one across the top, a strange shape at the bottom and two lines down the centre.

At first, I thought heated but they don't seem connected.

Anyone know what they are for?

I'd also like to know what these are for - noticed them today for the first time on an R172 while browsing at the dealership when I dropped my car off for a service.

Hmm, could be (which explains why my R171 doesn't have them).

You can just make them out in this snap I took of the R172 today:

DAB ariel isnt it?

I thought the rear screen heater doubled up as an aerial...

You should never touch these particularly on a Vito as I understand you can get Van aerial disease!!!

Aerials, if they used the rear screen once the roof is folded you would get no signal - I presume the CLK is a cab too, ours was and had them.

I'm pretty sure it's the radio aerial. The combined aerial in with the rear screen heater can cause interference when the heater is on so it was moved to the front on some cars.

RHD drivers get shafted again it seems with that in your sight lines.
