Late at night now, and had a beer or two, so do not quote me, but sounds like you may have similar CLK to me. It will take around 6-8 litres if empty and all pipes drained etc. You NEED a dipstick to check, when hot. It is VERY important on this box.
Get a datacard on it, and will tell you exactly which box it had (maybe not what it has now, so may be different issue) and will tell you what version car you have. I have been told W209 is same as C209 and it is not.
I had new box on mine, as was the car I always dreamt of many years ago, and aim to keep it until I cannot drive any longer.

I like your style on a Sunday night haha.
Cheers I have 8 litres sent to me , I will sort it out somehow haha.
The box had been replaced 10 months ago but it was second hand , it may have a valeo in it which I will have to check but the current box as the car stands has no drive at all .
Slightly worried I might need a star machine for once it's all fitted , we have a snap on so they may work or hopefully won't need to plug anything in haha.
Not all Valeos are duff. If you buy a replacement now, it will probably be a valeo. I bought different, as do not trust them. My box had swarf in, and various bits were knackered. I paid the price to get it sorted , as rest of car was spot on, and now done 2000m miles of abuse with no problems, and it works how it should have.
I will do most work on my car, but bow down to auto boxes as do not understand them. You will find lots of people on here just pay somebody to fix their car. I am an engineer, so would rather take something apart, and fix it with a soldering iron, for 20p, than pay somebody hundreds to just swap bits at your expense. I would rather spend my money on other things.
