Hi all
Loving my new clk convertible. I still smiling when I drive it. The only problem I,ve found Is the roof leaks between the molding and the rubber by the passenger window. It must hold it there because it streams out when I pull off. I,ve read it's a problem others have had.
Seals look pretty good, drains open so was thinking it might be the soft top leaking so bought some cleaner and sealer (Renovo) to do the roof. It rained heavy here this morning and was a lot of water build up under the seal.
I opened the roof half way so I could run my hand under the lining above the seal where the water was building up and it was dry, so was thinking it's not the top leaking or the liner would be wet.
On further investigation I noticed it looked like the front edge of the seal on the soft top had started to come away from the roof and there was some sticky black stuff as if someone may have tried to stick it back on .
My thinking is the water is running towards the drain and some of it is seeping under this seal which is no longer stuck to the soft top and filling the seal with water.
Do you think I'm on the right track ? Or any other ideas ?
And any recommendations as to what glue I could use to stick the seal to the canvas and metal.
Thanks for reading
Mike
